Dub Echos Documentary DVD released, London launch party

Dub Echoes DocumentaryThe Dub Echoes documentary has finally launched on DVD! Dub Echos, directed by Bruno Natal, tells the story of how Jamaican dub music grew out of reggae b-side versions to become the first producer- and studio-oriented musical form. From there, dub music became the kernel of most modern electronically-produced music, from techno to hip hop.

Dub Echoes was produced by a Brazilian crew, in Kingston, Jamaica, London, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. It has won numerous international film awards.

Dub Echoes DVD launch party

The Dub Echoes DVD was released in a launch party at Cafe 1001 in London. The event kicked off with a screening of Dub Echoes to a standing-room-only crowd. After the screening, Bruno Natal, Don Letts, and Adrian Sherwood handled a Q&A session with the audience.

After all the watching and talking, things got down to business with a party featuring dub sets with Don Letts, Adrian Sherwood, Cotti, and Cluekid. The movie was popular, but the party had people lined up outside the club!

We initially reported on the Dub Echoes documentary 2 years ago, when it was still a lot of hype and anticipation. It’s great to hear that it’s been so successful!
