I AND I BOB MARLEY was written by Tony Medina and illustrated by Jesse Joshua Watson. It is being distributed by Lee & Low Books for $19.95 (hardcover) and is recommended for ages 8 and older.
The book uses colorful paintings to illustrate Bob Marley‘s life in Jamaica and poems to tell the story. Booklist gave it a starred review, saying that it’s a “glowing, substantive picture book biography in verse… Like the words, Watson’s beautifully expressive acrylic paintings evoke a strong sense of Marley’s remarkable life and his Caribbean homeland.”
